Assigning a Default COM+ Partition to a New COM+ Partition User

Using the Component Services administrative tool, you can assign a default COM+ partition to a new COM+ partition user. When the new user attempts to access a COM+ application, COM+ searches that user's default partition for the application.

To assign a default COM+ partition to a new COM+ partition user

1. Verify that COM+ partitions are enabled for the computer.
   
   
2. In the console tree of the Component Services administrative tool, locate the name of the computer on which the user resides. Expand the view in the console tree until the computer's folders are visible.
   
   
3. Right-click the COM+ Partition Users folder, choose New, and choose User. This displays the Assign Default Partition dialog box.
   
   
4. Click Add; this displays the Select Users dialog box.
   
   
5. Enter one or more user names in the Enter the object names to select field.
   
   
6. Click OK.
   
   
7. In the Default partition list box, choose a default partition for the new user.
   
   
8. Click OK.
